How does it work
in practice?
No jargon, no empty promises. Here are real examples of what Kudu lets you do every day — for you, your family, your community.
Send & Receive
1 I want to send €200 to my mother in Cameroon. How does it work?
Open the app, type €200, choose Cameroon. Kudu instantly shows you how much your mother will receive in FCFA — with under 3% fees. You confirm, and your mother receives the money on her mobile money or via a verified Kudu agent near her. All in minutes, not 3 days.
2 Is it really cheaper than Western Union or MoneyGram?
A €200 transfer to sub-Saharan Africa costs an average of 8.78% in fees with traditional services — that's €17.56. With Kudu, it's under 3%, around €6. Over a year, sending €200 per month, you save over €138. That's almost an extra full month of support for your family.
3 What if my mother doesn't have a smartphone?
No problem. Your mother can pick up the money at a verified Kudu agent near her, with a simple withdrawal code received by SMS. No smartphone needed, no bank account needed. The KuduSafe™ system ensures funds are secured until withdrawal.
4 I'm in Côte d'Ivoire and want to receive money from abroad. Is that possible?
Yes. Kudu works both ways. Your loved one in Europe sends from the app, and you receive directly — in your Kudu wallet, via mobile money, or in cash from a verified agent. Fast, simple, no hidden fees.
5 What payment methods are accepted for sending?
Bank card, mobile money, SEPA transfer, or crypto. You choose what works for you at the time of sending. On the receiving end: mobile money, agent pickup, or bank transfer.
Digital tontines
1 Our women's group runs a monthly tontine. Can we manage it on Kudu?
That's exactly what Kudu is built for. You create your tontine in the app: number of members, monthly amount, distribution order. Each month, contributions are collected automatically and the round is distributed to the designated member. No more running around to collect money, no more late excuses, no more lost notebooks. Revive the tradition — save together in trusted circles, just like back home.
2 I'm in Paris but the other members are in Douala. Is that possible?
That's Kudu's strength. Your tontine works cross-border: you contribute in euros from Paris, members in Douala contribute in FCFA. Kudu handles the conversion automatically. Whether you're 5 in Paris and 10 in Douala, everyone participates in the same tontine, with the same transparency.
3 What if a member doesn't pay their contribution?
The app sends automatic reminders before each deadline. As an administrator, you see in real time who has paid and who hasn't. No more awkward conversations — the app handles the follow-up for you.
Group funds
1 We're organizing a wedding in the village. How can we collect money from all the family in Europe?
You create a fundraiser in the app with the title, description, and goal. You share the link with family — in France, Belgium, Germany. Everyone contributes from their phone. The organizer in the village sees contributions in real time and can withdraw funds locally. Collect together for weddings, funerals, and celebrations that bring the family closer.
2 A cousin needs to pay urgent medical bills in Abidjan. Can we collect quickly?
Yes, the emergency fundraiser is made for that. In 2 minutes you create the collection, share the link in the family WhatsApp group. Contributions arrive immediately. No waiting 3-5 business days — your cousin can access the funds as soon as they're collected.
3 Can I choose when to release the funds?
Yes. You choose between two modes: release when the goal is reached, or at a deadline you set. Either way, full transparency — every contributor sees progress in real time.
KuduSafe™ Contracts
1 What exactly are KuduSafe™ contracts?
KuduSafe™ contracts are secure agreements between two or more parties on Kudu. For example: you pay a craftsman back home for work at your parents' house. The money is held in escrow — it only moves when both parties validate. Total transparency, complete traceability, zero doubt.
2 I'm sending money to a supplier in Côte d'Ivoire. How can I be sure they'll deliver?
You create a KuduSafe™ contract with the delivery conditions. Your payment is secured in escrow. The supplier sees the funds are reserved — that motivates delivery. Once you confirm receipt, the funds are released. If a problem arises, the Kudu mediation team steps in.
3 Who can create a contract?
Any verified user can create a contract and invite other parties. Each contract is traceable, parties receive notifications at every step, and the complete history is kept in the app.
Kudu Pay & Offline payments
1 In my village, there's no internet. Can I still pay?
Yes. Kudu Pay works even without internet thanks to a cryptographic QR code system. You generate a QR from your phone, the merchant scans it, and the transaction is recorded locally on both devices. As soon as the network comes back, everything syncs automatically. 38% of Africans don't have internet access — Kudu is the first fintech with 100% offline payments.
2 How does the QR payment technically work?
The QR code contains the transaction information in a secure, encrypted format. No connection needed at the time of scanning — neither for you nor the merchant. The app stores the transaction locally and validates it as soon as a connection is available — whether 4G, WiFi, or even a low-bandwidth network.
3 Is Kudu Pay only for offline use?
No. Kudu Pay is also a payment link you can share with anyone — for personal or business use. Share your link, get paid instantly. It works online and offline.
Exchange agents
1 I run an exchange office. Can Kudu help me?
Absolutely. Kudu is built for licensed professionals like you. You keep your business, your licenses, your operations. Kudu connects you to a network of diaspora clients in Europe and Canada — people looking for a reliable partner back home for their transfers. It's an extra flow of clients, with KuduSafe™ protection on every transaction.
2 What are the advantages compared to working on my own?
Increased client volume through visibility on the app, commissions guaranteed by the KuduSafe™ escrow system, integrated management tool to track your transactions, and dedicated support. You set your own exchange rates, hours, and coverage area. You keep your independence while benefiting from a structured network.
3 How do clients find me?
Your agent profile appears on the Kudu map with your location, accepted currencies, hours, response time, and community reviews. Clients filter by agent type (exchange office, independent agent), currency, or proximity.
4 Do I need a license to become a Kudu partner?
Yes, it's a mandatory requirement. To join the network, you must already hold a valid exchange license in your country. This isn't a hurdle — it's what makes the network strong. By only working with licensed professionals, Kudu guarantees every client that their money goes through reliable, compliant hands. It's good for you too: it means your competitors on the platform are serious, and user trust is real.
5 In practice, who does what between Kudu and me?
It's straightforward. You handle what you already know: the exchange, the cash, the mobile money, the relationship with local clients. Your license is your business. Kudu, on its side, brings the technology — the app, the KuduSafe™ escrow that secures every transaction, and the KuduPay™ offline payment protocol. And above all, Kudu brings you the clients: the diaspora in Europe and Canada who need a trusted partner back home. Each side does what it does best. We're in this together.
6 How does Kudu make money? How much does it cost me?
Kudu takes a 3% commission on each transaction — that's it. No hidden fees, no subscription, no entry cost. You set your exchange rates and margins freely. When a client accepts your rate and starts a transaction, the 3% is deducted automatically. The rest is yours. It's a model where everyone wins: you get clients, the client gets a transparent rate, and Kudu keeps the platform running.
Savings
1 Can I save money on Kudu?
Yes. You create a savings pot with a goal — for example 'Christmas flight ticket' or 'Kids' tuition'. You save at your own pace, whenever you want. It's simple, personal, and all done from the app.
2 Is it different from a tontine?
Yes. Savings is individual — your personal pot, your goal, your pace. A tontine is collective: a group that contributes together with a rotating distribution. Both are on Kudu, but they serve different needs.
European account & Cards
1 Can I get a real European bank account with Kudu?
Yes. Kudu offers you a European account with a dedicated IBAN, virtual and physical Visa cards, and SEPA transfers. You manage your money in Europe and your transfers to Africa from the same application. One place for everything.
2 What's this crypto thing about? I don't want to speculate.
Don't worry, you'll never see crypto in your experience. Kudu uses stablecoins (USDT, USDC) only as transfer rails behind the scenes — that's what enables under 3% fees instead of 9%. For you, the experience is simple: you send euros, your family receives FCFA.
3 Can I convert my crypto to cash?
Yes. If you hold crypto, you can convert it to XOF via verified local agents on Kudu. No complicated exchange needed — you trade directly from the app and pick up cash from an agent.
Loyalty & Referral
1 Is there a loyalty program?
Yes, Kudu Rewards. Every transaction earns you points. The more you use Kudu, the more you accumulate — and these points unlock fee discounts on transfers. You can track your points and history directly in the app.
2 How does the referral program work?
You have a customizable referral code in the app. Share it with your loved ones: when they sign up with your code, you earn points after their first exchange. Your referrals also get a 100-point welcome bonus. The more you refer, the more you earn — loyalty is meant to be shared.
3 How do I earn points outside of referrals?
You earn points for every transaction made, your first monthly transaction, identity verification (KYC), and reviews left on agents. Everything is detailed in the Rewards section of the app.
