Group buy price tiers

The price per person drops as more people join. The partner sets the prices on its own site.

  1. Find a group buy

    Join one on a partner's own site. Each group buy states its target amount and its deadline there. To ask about the pilot, use the contact form.

  2. Put in your share

    Buy on the partner's site and approve the payment in your own wallet. Your payment is locked on the Stellar network until your claim opens or the payment is released to the organiser.

  3. Pick up your order

    Where a partner offers it, an order can be delivered to a Mondial Relay or Colissimo pickup point in France. The seller is responsible for delivery.

Who does what in a group buy

  • Partners run the shop

    You buy on the partner's own site. The partner puts the goods online and takes the orders, and the seller is responsible for delivery. Kudu provides the engine, not the shop.

  • Your payment is locked on Stellar

    Each payment is a claimable balance, a feature of the Stellar network. It stays locked until your claim opens or the payment is released to the organiser. If the target is not reached by the deadline, each buyer can claim their payment back. The claim opens at least three days after the deadline, and months later when the seller declared a long delivery period.

  • See your group buys in the app

    The Kudu app lists the group buys you join. Each row links to the partner's own site.

Run a group buy as a partner

A partner runs each group buy on its own site, with its own brand, prices and delivery. The partner builds it on Kudu's API. Each payment is locked on the Stellar network until the buyer's claim opens or the payment is released to the organiser.

How does group buying work with Kudu?

What happens to my share if the group is not complete?

The claim opens at least three days after the deadline, and months later when the seller declared a long delivery period. Until then the payment stays locked on the Stellar network. The Kudu app lists your group buys and has no screen for this claim: before you join, ask the partner or the organiser how to claim your payment back.
