How it works

  1. Create your wallet

Your wallet is created on your device. Write your recovery phrase (24 words) on paper, in order, and keep it private. Anyone who has your recovery phrase can control your wallet. Verify your identity before you send or show your address.

  2. Choose the tool for the deal

Send USDC, request a payment, sign an escrow contract, or join a group buy.

  3. Confirm on your device

Check the amount and each fee, then enter your code to confirm.

Frequently asked questions

Who is Kudu for?
People and businesses that do deals across borders: importers and exporters, independent professionals, cooperatives and buying groups, and developers who build on Kudu's API.
Do I need to understand crypto to use Kudu?
You do two things yourself. When you create your wallet, you get a recovery phrase (24 words): write it on paper and keep it private. Before you confirm a send, check the recipient, the network and the amount, because a confirmed send cannot be cancelled.
What does it cost to use Kudu?
Kudu pays the network deposit and fee for activating your account, subject to conditions. If Kudu cannot cover them, the setup is refused and nothing is charged. Kudu charges a fee on some actions, and MoneyGram charges its own fee for cash in and cash out. Each Kudu fee is shown before you confirm. Amounts in other currencies are an indication only.
How does an escrow contract work?
You and the other party sign a contract. The buyer locks USDC in it on the Stellar network. The contract releases the funds when its conditions are met. You choose a mediator, a third party who is not part of Kudu. Kudu never decides a dispute.
How does my group take part in a group buy?
A partner runs each group buy on its own site. Each member joins there and puts in their own share. The Kudu app lists every group buy you join, with a link back to the partner.
Can my company build on Kudu?
Yes, for group buying. The API covers sign-in, the catalogue, group buys, orders and delivery lookup. Apply for API access and tell us about your business. If Kudu approves the application, you receive the API reference and a sandbox.
